This site provides one-stop-shopping capability for LANF members. Features:

• A customized interface for Los Alamos folks, not some one-size-fits-all site;
• Clearly shows schedules, particularly each order and where it is at a given moment in time;
• Makes it easy to search or browse the online catalog;
• Makes it easy to enter orders from the paper catalog;
• Generates consistent, easy-to-read order summaries;
• Keeps track of past orders, since most of us usually order the same things each time; and
• Provides email notification of interesting events, e.g., Orders due in 2 days or Your item 123 is out of stock.

Why LANF?

There are plenty of ShopNatural(TCW)-affiliated coops on the Hill. What makes LANF the best one?

• Split Orders. Don't want a whole case of Organic Cheez Puffs? Buy half the case. The rest will be available for members to buy.
• Single-Item Purchases. Curious about those Cheez Puffs, but don't want to risk a half case? If someone else orders a half case, you can buy a single.
• Timing. LANF has refrigerators and freezers at the pickup site. That means that if it's not your turn to unload the truck, you don't have to be there at 10AM.
• Web Ordering. LANF members place their orders directly through www.lanf.org. None of this paper nonsense. No humans in the loop: orders go directly from lanf.org to ShopNatural. You don't have to worry about some bozo mistyping your order. Illegible handwriting, smudged order sheets, not a problem.
• Flexible Schedule. Thanks to the automated ordering process at www.lanf.org, LANF members get an extra week before orders are due.
• Out-of-Stock Notifications. lanf.org monitors the ShopNatural out-of-stock reports. If we find an item that you ordered is unavailable, we send you an email and provide options for substitution. No more surprises at the truck meet!
• Process Improvements. LANF has a team of dedicated professionals working to improve even the tiniest details. For instance, our truck meets go much quicker thanks to improved labels. New invoices are easier to read.

...are available to you, and to the Order Coordinator. Ed has access, since he runs this system, but he really isn't interested in whether or not you ordered the Organic Inflatable Sheep last month.

Your Financial Data

Isn't anywhere near this system. I don't know your credit card number, or bank account, or mother's maiden name. I don't wanna know. The only thing I got here is the ShopNatural catalog, and the LANF group roster so I can keep track of orders.
